Set Designer and Scenic Artist for Romeo and Juliet -- Playhouse Theatre, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY -- Director: Rinda Frye -- Fall 2006
In addition to designing and painting the set of Romeo and Juliet, I also worked in the University of Louisville's costume shop. One of my many special projects for the production was the comedically oversized cloak that the Nurse wore. Zhanna Goldentul was the costume designer for this show. Working closely with her, we designed a pattern for the cloak and I built it.
The center section of the set was actually a wagon which was rolled and turned by the actors onstage. Once turned, this section became Juliet's bedroom and later, the crypt.
